FixPixel v0.90

FixPixel is a DOS program which can fix stuck pixels.

What is a stuck pixel?
A stuck pixel is a bright dot of colour most noticeable when the rest of the screen is black. Stuck pixels are fairly common on high resolution LCD screens. Stuck pixels sometimes start working again with time unless they appear black on a white background, these are known as dead pixels, which are mostly unrecoverable.

How it works?
FixPixel re-energises stuck pixels on LCD screens and removes burn-in from plasma screens by randomly switching on and off red, green and blue colour cells very rapidly. The time between on and off is random which helps bring stuck pixels back to life through resonance and repetition. FixPixel will turn individual colour cells on and off between 15 and 60 times every second. The fast switch cycles help increase full on and full off levels in both LCD segments and plasma cells. The expected result is an increase in contrast and normalisation of colour levels.

How can I improve FixPixel work?
You can help FixPixel by doing a soft "pixel massage". Get yourself a damp cloth, so that you don't scratch your screen. Apply pressure to the area where the dead pixel is for few seconds. Do not put pressure anywhere else, as this may make more dead pixels. Of course, FixPixel should be running while applying the pressure. This works as the liquid in the liquid crystal has not spread into each little pixel. This liquid is used with the backlight on your monitor, allowing different amounts of light through which give off different colours.
